I will also have the tutor critique the first drafts of documents I prepare and have them review my final versions. I would also like for my tutor/coach to observe me an a couple of meetings and have them offer suggestions for improvement.

Development Plan: Dealing with Operating Problems

I believe the collaborative approach I outlined above will help in identifying operational problems during the planning process and provide an early warning where handoff with in the implementation process may not go smoothly. As part of my discussions with cross-function partners will be the development of contingency plans in case any anticipated problem do arise. I will schedule a weekly meeting with all the cross-function leads, including any important suppliers and vendors, to access how things are going, early identification of any suspected problems, work to determine possible solutions and understand how the solution will impact all functional areas.

To improve my leadership skills to manage this weekly group meeting, I will work with my tutor/coach to plan out an agenda for each meeting and prepare meeting minutes. I also, think it would be worthwhile to hire a project management expert to teach the team effective project management, problem identification and skills to develop and implement solutions.

Goals:

1) Obtain feedback on this performance plan from my instructor prior to the end of fall semester.

2) Hire a tutor/coach by the first week of the spring semester.

3) by end of week 2, work with teammates to establish a meeting purpose and schedule for daily/weekly (as needed) project status meetings

4) by end of week three, host project management resource

Identify a potential tutor/coach, interview candidates and hire the individual

Obtain the class syllabus and work with coach to schedule presentation practices, meeting observations, review dates for written assignments.

Work with assigned or chosen teammates to develop a plan for daily/weekly (as needed) status meetings

With the team prepare a work plan and timeline for each required deliverable
